Report of SACSCOC Special Committee (October 13, 2017)

October 20, 2017

From October 1-4, 2017, the University hosted a Special Committee on campus related to the warning sanction that the institution received in December 2016, resulting from past issues related to sexual violence within the campus community. The full report of the Special Committee can be found at the link below. The Special Committee conducted a thorough review of student services, athletics, and the overall institutional environment and found Baylor to be compliant in all three areas. Additionally, the review committee verified that all 105 recommendations the University implemented in response to past incidents of sexual violence within its campus community have been implemented.

Importantly, the findings of this visiting committee represent a preliminary assessment of the institution at this time; final action on the report rests with the Commission on Colleges. That review will occur in early December 2017 as part of the SACSCOC annual meeting.
